We’ve made fire pits in the form of Darth Vader, R2D2 and Boba Fett. We’ve created custom wood burners in the shape of Terminator, Predator and Freddy Krueger. We’ve even got a BBQ in the form of the DeLorean. What we haven’t seen many of so far, but we think would make for simply stunning burners, are computer games characters.

Alex took on the challenge and created a unique and stunning piece of art that we've called Bunnies in the Garden.

2019 has seen a few smaller projects come our way. Alex loves these small projects and thrives on the challenge to make each of his creations incite a huge "Wow!" from our clients. Here are just a few of the smaller challenges that we've taken on this year. 

The inspiration behind this King of the Beasts custom fire pit is the Three Lions emblem, which represents English sports including football, cricket, and rugby. The client, a sports enthusiast, wanted a piece that reflected his passion for England and his favorite sports. The lion's head was the perfect choice, symbolising strength, power, and courage.

We are always looking for news ways to bring the worlds favourite droid to life.

Alex has been dreaming of giving our R2-D2 themed burner a more movie-like overhaul, and the start of 2019 saw this dream brought to reality perfectly, and we can now introduce our brand new multi-purpose R2D2 steel fabrication, available to buy from Burned by Design. 

2018 has been a phenomenal year for creating new, wonderful designs, and here's just a selection of the amazing sculptures that Alex has created for our clients.

We have a new favourite burner over here at Burned by Design.

We were contacted by our client back in June who asked - "Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to have a wood burner custom-made in the shape of an ATST from Star Wars please?"

Alex almost wet his pants with excitement and the challenge was on.

On November 11, 2018, the world commemorated the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One. People across the UK and beyond gathered to pay respects to the fallen soldiers and to reflect on the sacrifices made during the war. One of the ways in which this was done was through the lighting of beacons of light, a symbol of hope and remembrance. In Hoyland, Yorkshire, a commemorative sculpture was lit for the Beacons of Light celebration at Owd Martha's Yard.

It was a very proud day at Burned by Design with the installation of the Fire Beacon at Owd' Martha's Yard yesterday.

Owd' Martha's Yard is a community garden in our local town centre of Hoyland, which is run by local volunteers. Following the success of the commemorative bench we made for the garden last year, the Owd Martha's Yard team asked Alex if we could make a 'Fire Beacon' so that the Hoyland and wider community could be part of the the very special event.

The story of the Fighting Hornet began when a client, Alan, reached out to Burned by Design with a special request. As a huge fan of Watford FC, he wanted to immortalise the team's nickname and mascot, the Hornets, in the form of a wood burner. However, he hesitated to ask his family for such an extravagant gift, believing it might be too much to ask.

Describe your friend in three words - Large, cuddly and funny. Introducing the Laughing Buddha.

We were contacted a little while back by our client to ask about some unique gifts for some special friends. 

He had already made his pick on one of our Predator burners, but was looking for a custom 'Laughing Buddha.'

This is not the the first time we have ventured in to the realm of the Time Lord 'Doctor Who'.....now we bring you perhaps one of the greatest Doctor Who villains of all!!

As a returning customer to Burned by Design, our client had already experienced the quality craftsmanship and artistic innovation of our bespoke wood burners. So when they requested a unique garden fire pit in the shape of the Scottish Thistle, it was a challenge that Alex was excited to take on. The final product is a spectacular piece of art that showcases our brand's expertise, flexibility, and creativity.

Alex and Burned by Design have done it again. This time, we've received a special request from the USA to create a wood burner and grill inspired by Starlord from the Guardians of the Galaxy series. This unique piece features red cut glass eyes and styled hair that lifts off to allow for grilling.

We've received a real challenge recently: A Starlord Burner and Grill. The Starlord-inspired fire pit is going to be a true masterpiece, with a unique design that captures the essence of the Guardians of the Galaxy character. The fire pit is made from mild steel and finished in clear lacquer, with dimensions of approximately 46 x 46 x 75cm. The standout features of the fire pit are the red cut glass eyes that add character detailing and the styled hair that lifts off for grilling. See the in-progress pics here.
